The Niche foundation recently donated $10,000 to the Panther Valley Elementary School towards the construction of a new playground
For the students of Panther Valley Elementary School, recess was a time for tag and not much else. The school lot was vast, but bare except for a basketball court that did not appeal to the younger students.
After many years without, Principal Robert Palazzo organized efforts to build a well-deserved playground for all to enjoy. The entire school and Nesquehoning community rallied to make the playground plans a reality. Students and families raised an incredible $10,000, while fundraisers and donations contributed to the final goal after 14 months of dedication.
The Niche Foundation’s $10,000 donation purchased the “Cascade Climber.” Employees and union workers in both Niche Fluoropolymer Products and Niche volunteered to help build this exciting addition. By August 2018 the students of Panther Valley Elementary were ready to begin the new year with a wonderful surprise.
